Birth of Our Vision

Redemption Church Ogden started as a church with a vision to see hundreds of churches planted throughout Utah. Over the last decade, RC Ogden has supported nine new church starts throughout Utah, and it has planted several others. Church planting is incredibly difficult, but there are ways to make the planting process healthier and more efficient. What started to evolve from those early conversations was not just one church planting hundreds of churches throughout Utah but a Family of Churches working to accomplish that mission together. A Family of Churches can collaborate with financial resources, people resources, leadership pipelines, and a community of believers that support these fledgling churches.

Leadership

Pastors from each member church in the RFC compose the governing board of this body and meet together monthly to discuss the business of the family. These meetings are not just about business but also a brotherhood of pastors that care about one another and are called to work together for the sake of mission.

Bobby Wood

After finishing up seminary in New Orleans in 2009, God called Bobby and Lindsay to serve as youth pastor at Mountain View Baptist Church in Layton, Utah. It was during his time there that God started giving him a vision for Redemption Church. Along with his family and a small core team, Bobby started Redemption Church in 2013. The Woods love the uniqueness of Ogden and Weber State University.

Daniel Savage

WORSHIP ARTS PASTOR

Daniel accepted the call to ministry while attending the University of Arkansas in 2004. He began his ministry as Worship Pastor at FBC Westwego in January of 2007. After spending almost 9 years in the New Orleans area, Daniel joined the pastoral team at Redemption Church in 2015.

Nick Erickson

LEADERSHIP PASTOR

Nick has been confident in his relationship with Christ for a long time, and during college God made it clear to him that he wanted him to serve in full time ministry. Nick has been in full time ministry for the past 16 years and has considered himself blessed to serve God in that capacity. Before coming to Utah, the Ericksons lived in S.C. serving two different churches. Nick has been a part of the pastoral team at Redemption Church since 2016.

Casey Swails

FAMILY PASTOR

Casey joined the ministry team at Redemption Church in August of 2021. Casey previously served as pastor of Crestview Baptist Church in Lancaster, South Carolina. He also served two terms as a summer missionary for Redemption in 2016 and 2017 during his college years. Casey finished his Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2022.

Nathan Brock

Nathan is originally from Oklahoma, but has also lived in Arkansas and North Carolina before moving to Utah in the spring of 2022. Nathan joined the Redemption team as a church planting resident in 2022, and became the North Davis Pastor in the spring of 2023.

Daniel Williams

MISSIONS PASTOR

Daniel joined the Redemption Team in June of 2023. Originally from Tennessee, Daniel most recently spent time in North Carolina teaching school and serving as a missions coordinator for Imago Dei Church in Raleigh. Daniel is married to Elizabeth and they have a son and a daughter.

Six people started meeting in Bobby Wood’s home praying about what a multiplying church would look like in Ogden

Redemption Church Launch

SEPTEMBER 2013

Redemption Church launched in the Ziegfeld Theater in Ogden, Utah.

Strategic Partnership With Summit Church

MARCH 2019

Summit Church joined with Redemption Church and both churches started meeting in the current building off 39th St in S. Ogden.

Morgan Grace Church Replant

MAY 2020

Sent out Chase and Gavin Roberts to replant Morgan Grace Church in Morgan, Utah

Launch of Leadership School

JAN 2023

Redemption had 17 students start out in the first semester of Leadership School.

Launch of Redemption North Davis

EASTER 2023

Thirty people were sent from Redemption Ogden and started meeting at the Kaysville Theater.

RFC Inaugural Board Meeting

JAN 2nd, 2024

The RFoC officially started with its first board meeting and first church planting resident of the RFoC.

Launch of Redemption Church North Ogden

FALL 2024

The North Ogden church will be the next plant of the RFC to be planted in Fall of 2024.
